Eagle Eye Events Suggest Ways to Make More Work Seem Less Like Work

Though we love what we do here at Eagle Eye Events, we know there are a lot of people out there who don’t have nearly as much fun at work as we do. Our enthusiasm is not just a matter of serendipity; we take steps to make sure that we are productive, don’t overextend ourselves, and make our labor as fun as possible. Here are some suggestions for taking the drudgery out of your workday:

Shorten Your To-Do List: Task lists are often way too long, which is both stressful and demotivating. Make your list manageable by limiting yourself to one big, three middle-sized, and four or five small projects per day.

Aim at the Low-Hanging Fruit: Spend the majority of your energy pursuing goals that have the biggest reward for the least amount of effort.

Do the Hard Stuff First: Studies show that we have the highest amounts of energy and willpower within a couple hours of waking, so use that time to your advantage.

Leave Cliffhangers: Creating momentum on a project is often the hardest part of the whole thing. To overcome mental and physical inertia, begin working and then walk away from it. When you come back, it will seem easier because it’s already started.

Sneak a Nap: Not something to get caught doing, but even ten minutes of shuteye can help you feel fresh and energetic.

Job satisfaction is not just a lucky break. Use these strategies to make your office a more pleasant location in which to spend your time.
